Protein Packed Dog Treats

dog biscuits

Recently Hannah, my adorable 13 year old mixed breed “puppy” had a severe attack of pancreatitis. She had stopped eating, so it was important that I find the right foods for her to keep up her strength while she recovered. For a while, she had trouble keeping food on her stomach. So, I went on a search for something that I could give her in small doses that sat well on her inflamed gut. I found a great combination nut butter that had all that the right things I was looking for in a treat that would be beneficial for her and she would like to eat.  Mixing it with organic powdered peanut butter, I came up with an irresistible treat for a dog who didn’t want to eat!

    1. Mix all ingredients together. They will be very dry but keep stirring until they come together into a rough ball.mix dough
    2. Roll out onto parchment paper. (I prefer to use a silicone baking sheet.) Then using a pizza cutter, cut dough into desired biscuit sizes.cut dough
    3. Store treats in a tightly sealed glass container.dog biscuits
Serve to your puppy and watch her gobble them up!
